BravaSpace or Trello: what fits your agency?

Trello is a clear, friendly way to move work along. BravaSpace adds the parts clients actually touch: approvals, files, messages and invoices, under your name.

Free for 14 days. No credit card needed.

Choose BravaSpace if

Clients need their own place for approvals, files, messages and invoices, and you want it to carry your brand rather than a board.

Choose Trello if

You mainly need a simple, visual way for your team to see who is doing what, and clients rarely need to look at it.

At a glance

Where each one is strong.

Our own score, out of 5, for how well each tool fits client work. It is our opinion, not a test. We built one of these two, so keep that in mind.

  • Clients sign in to a space under your brand
  • Approvals and sign-off in one click
  • Invoices and getting paid
  • Messages and files per client
  • Simple visual task boards
  • Add-ons and automation

Where BravaSpace is better

  • Clients see a space designed for them, not a board built for a team.
  • Approvals are an action on the work itself, with Approve, Request changes and Comment.
  • Files, messages, invoices and contracts sit beside the tasks, per client.
  • Internal tasks are marked internal and never appear to clients.
  • Your brand throughout, not a third-party tool’s.
  • Invoices, contracts and calls booked with a Google Meet or Zoom link are part of the same client space.

Where Trello is better

  • Boards are a wonderfully quick way to show work moving. Anyone understands them in a minute.
  • A large choice of add-ons and automations for repeat team tasks.
  • It suits work that is not about clients at all: hiring, content calendars, personal projects.
  • It is easy to start, and well known, so new team members often already use it.

You do not have to pick one

Using them together.

If your team lives on Trello boards and loves them, keep them for internal planning. Use BravaSpace for what clients see: the status in plain words, the thing to approve, the invoice. You can mirror a handful of key tasks into the client’s Work tab and keep the detail on your board. See the tasks and projects page for how tasks work here.

Switching from Trello

Bring your clients across from Trello.

It is one chat with Brava: say where you’re coming from, drop in the export, check, import. You see everything before it is added.

  1. 1

Tell Brava where you’re coming from.

Choose Add a client, then Switch from another tool. Pick your tool, or Something else, and Brava gives you its export steps.

  2. 2

    Drop in your export.

Your clients and contacts from Trello, and projects or tasks if you want them: CSV, Excel or a ZIP. Brava reads only the column names and the first 20 rows to map the columns. Change any it got wrong.

  3. 3

    Check, then import.

A short summary, like “9 clients and 11 contacts; 1 row needs a look.” Fix that row or leave it out, then press Import once. You can still undo the import afterwards.

Read the full switching guide, or talk to us if your export looks unusual.

Questions

Fair questions.

Yes. The catch is that sharing a board shares the board, so anything on it is visible to them. Many teams keep a separate client-facing board to avoid sharing internal notes. BravaSpace separates internal and client-visible tasks within the same space.

No. Tasks appear as a list or on a calendar, with statuses of Not Started, In Progress, Client Review and Completed. If drag-and-drop boards are central to how you work, Trello is better at that.

It depends on your size and needs, and prices change. Trello has been known for a free tier. BravaSpace starts with a 14-day free trial and plans from Starter at $39 a month; see our pricing page for current details.

This comparison reflects public information about Trello as we understand it in October 2026. Tools change, so check Trello’s current features and pricing before you decide. See our plans and prices, how it works or every comparison.
