Switch to BravaSpace

See what you can bring into BravaSpace.

Start with one client. Try the work, files, and feedback before you move more over. Tell Brava where you’re coming from, drop in the export, check, then import. Nothing reaches your clients until you invite them.

Export guides in the app

Steps for the tools agencies use.

Tell Brava your tool and it gives you the steps to export from it. Coming from somewhere else? Something else takes any CSV or Excel export.

How it works

Three steps, in one chat.

In BravaSpace: Add a client, then Switch from another tool.

  1. 1

Tell Brava where you’re coming from.

Choose Add a client, then Switch from another tool. Pick your tool, or Something else, and Brava gives you its export steps.

  2. 2

    Drop in your export.

Your clients and contacts from your current tool, and projects or tasks if you want them: CSV, Excel or a ZIP. Brava reads only the column names and the first 20 rows to map the columns. Change any it got wrong.

  3. 3

    Check, then import.

A short summary, like “9 clients and 11 contacts; 1 row needs a look.” Fix that row or leave it out, then press Import once. You can still undo the import afterwards.

What Brava reads. Only the column names and the first 20 rows of each file, to suggest what each column is. The rest of the file stays in your browser until you import it, and the import itself does exactly what the summary showed.

Good to know

What moves, and what does not yet.

Good to know

  • Clients you already have are matched by contact email, then website, then name, so a second import fills in rather than duplicates.
  • For matched clients you choose: fill in only what is missing, or use the file’s values. Names never change.
  • Nothing is sent to your clients during an import: no invites, no emails.
  • Inviting clients is a separate step afterwards, person by person, when you are ready.
  • Undo removes the clients and tasks that import added. Clients it updated keep the changes, and a client with new work since stays.

What does not move yet

  • Invoices in an export are counted, not imported yet. Keep the export and recreate the open ones in Invoices.
  • Only the first contact for each client fills in the client’s contact details. The others are listed for you to invite.
  • Up to 2,000 rows per import. Split a bigger file and import it in parts.
  • Files, messages and signed contracts are not part of the import. Download what you need to keep from your old tool.
  • New clients count toward the client spaces on your plan.

Questions

Before you switch.

No. Nothing is sent during an import: no invites and no emails. When it is done you see the people from your files, and you invite each one when you are ready.

They are matched to the clients you already have, by contact email, then website, then name. You choose whether the file only fills in what is missing or replaces what is there. Names never change.

Yes. Undo this import removes the clients and tasks that import added. Clients it updated keep the changes, and a client you have since added files, messages, people or tasks to stays.

CSV and Excel (.xlsx), several at once, or one ZIP of several exports. Older Excel (.xls), Numbers and OpenDocument files need saving as .xlsx or .csv first.

No. To suggest the column mapping, Brava reads only the column names and the first 20 rows of each file. The rest stays in your browser until you import it. Brava’s mapping is there for people with Studio & AI access; without it, known exports map themselves and other columns are matched by their names.

Not yet. The import counts the invoices in an export and tells you how many are still open and what is due, so you can recreate the open ones in Invoices. Keep the export for your records.

No, there is no done-for-you migration service. The import is one short chat with Brava that you run yourself, and you see every column and row before anything is added. If an export looks unusual, talk to us and we will help you read it.

Questions about your own export? Talk to us. A real person reads every message.
