Work and files
Slack
New tasks, approvals, comments and client messages posted to a Slack channel.
Free for 14 days. No credit card needed.
What it does
Connect Slack to your client work.
- Portal activity in a channel
New tasks, status changes, client approvals and comments, and new messages, as short posts.
The Slack channel you choose - You choose the clients
Only the clients switched on post; the rest stay quiet.
This app's Connection tab
How it works
Connect once. It keeps itself current.
- 1Connect an incoming webhook
Create one in Slack for the channel and paste its URL. A test message is posted to check it.
- 2Switch clients on
Pick which clients' activity posts.
- 3Posts in order
Events go out on the connector's scheduled run, oldest first; a failing one is retried up to five times.
What Brava can change
Changes in Slack, only when you press Apply.
Ask Brava for a change and it reads Slack live, then shows it on a card: what changes, before and after, and the limits it was checked against. Nothing is written until someone on your team presses Apply. The proposal and the change are both logged on the client's record.
- Post to the team's Slack channelNo undo
Posts a message for your team to the connected Slack channel, the one the incoming webhook posts to. For the team, not for clients.
- Up to 3,000 characters.
No undo: Slack does not let a webhook edit or delete a message afterwards.
A proposal can be applied for 15 minutes; where there is an undo, it is offered for 7 days. No change deletes anything that was there before.
Before you start
What you need.
- A Slack workspace where you can add an app with Incoming Webhooks.
Setting it up
Where to find it.
- Open api.slack.com/apps and create an app from scratch in your workspace.
- Turn on Incoming Webhooks, then Add New Webhook to Workspace, and choose the channel.
- Copy the Webhook URL (it starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/).
In the app, Connect Slack opens a guided setup with Brava: it asks for each thing in turn, tests the connection and tells you it is working.
Data and privacy
What BravaSpace keeps, and what it can touch.
What is stored
The webhook URL, encrypted in a table no browser can read, and a week of queued events (text cut to 500 characters).
Access
Sends only: BravaSpace posts to that one channel and reads nothing from Slack.
Disconnecting
Disconnect on this page: the webhook URL and the client switches are deleted. Remove the app in Slack too to revoke the URL there.
Questions

Open Connect Slack in BravaSpace and paste the incoming webhook URL; Brava tests the connection before saving it. Open api.slack.com/apps and create an app from scratch in your workspace. Turn on Incoming Webhooks, then Add New Webhook to Workspace, and choose the channel. Copy the Webhook URL (it starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/). Then match each client to their clients that post.

Disconnect on the Slack app page in BravaSpace: the webhook URL and the client switches are deleted. Remove the app in Slack too to revoke the URL there.
Brava reads the error and suggests the fix. The common ones: Paste the Webhook URL from Incoming Webhooks; it looks like https://hooks.slack.com/services/T.../B.../.... Slack no longer knows that webhook (the app or channel was removed). Create a new one.
Try it with one client.
